What is the Green to Work Program?

The North Shore TMA will pay you to change your commuting habits! Sign up for our Green to Work program and change your commuting habits as little as 24 times during three months to earn FREE money. The more you leave your car at home, the more money you can earn.

Who is eligible for the Green to Work Program?

Employees and tenants of TMA member companies are eligible for the program.

What if I’ve already participated in a TMA incentive program?

You’re eligible! This is a new program so participation in previous incentive programs does not preclude you from participating in the Green to Work Program.

How do I sign-up for Green to Work?
You can register for Green to Work online or you can fill out a registration card during any TMA onsite event.

How do I qualify to receive my Green to Work incentive reward?

To qualify for the reward you must use an alternative commute at least 24 times during a three-month period. Reimbursement levels are based on the number of times you use an alternative during a three-month period. Participants who continue to log their commutes each month are eligible for a random monthly and quarterly (January/April/July/October) raffle drawing.

How much will my Green to Work incentive reward be?

Your award is based on the number of times you choose an alternative commute mode. The more often you choose an alternative commute mode, the bigger your reward!

Prize award categories for aggregate three-month point totals

  • $25: minimum of 24 days logged
  • $50: minimum of 36 days logged
  • $75: minimum of 48 days logged

How do I receive my incentive?

  • After registering, track your commute using the monthly tracking log available online.
  • After three months, submit your log to the TMA to receive your incentive reward.
  • Earn up to $75 in gift card credit during the 3-month incentive period, depending on how often you commute using an alternative commute mode. Submit your log to the TMA by the 5th of the month following your incentive program.

What Stores can I choose from for my incentive reward gift card?

You can choose from 25 merchants to redeem your gift card from bookstores, restaurants, movie theaters, sporting goods, and department stores!  Click here for a complete list of merchants.

Can I continue after three months?

If you continue to log your commute after the initial three month incentive period, you will be eligible for the monthly $25 gift card raffle prize, drawn randomly from the names of all participants who have logged their commute during the previous month. If you log your alternative commute at least once each month for 3-consecutive months, you are entered into a quarterly (January/April/July/October) raffle for a $100 gift card!

I can’t commit to using an alternative commute mode at least 24 times within three months. Can I still register and track my carbon footprint for days that I do use an alternative to commuting alone?

Yes. Every little bit helps! Even if you cannot commit to commuting at least 24 days within three months, you can register your commute profile and log in whenever you use an alternative to driving alone to work. To thank you for your efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by commuting greener, each month that you log an alternative commute at least one time, you will be registered in the TMA’s $25 monthly random raffle drawing.

How can I be eligible for the $100 Green to Work quarterly raffle?

In order to be eligible to participate in the TMA's quarterly $100 Green to Work raffle, you must register for the Green to Work program or register for the monthly/quarterly raffle program and log your alternative commute at least once each month during the preceding 3-consecutive month period to each quarterly drawing. A $100 raffle prize will be awarded quarterly (January/April/July/October) to a continuing program participant.

If I find that I can meet the minimum requirements of the Green to Work incentive program, can I change my registration from the monthly raffle program to the Green to Work Incentive program?

Yes. If the program is open, you can change your registration status from the tracking program to the incentive program.
