Get Rewards for Greener Trips!

Sign-up for NuRide, record your trips, and redeem points for rewards!

What is NuRide?
NuRide is the nation's largest rewards program for commuters who take greener trips. NuRide can also help you find a carpool mate.

What is a “greener trip”?
Greener trips are when you don't drive solo and instead choose an alternate transportation mode – bike, walk, carpool, vanpool, telecommute, take public transit (subway, train, bus, ferry) or even work a compressed week. A greener trip can be a work or personal trip!

Why NuRide?
NSTMA partners with MassDOT (Massachusetts Department of Transportation) to offer NuRide, a free on-line system allowing commuters to:

  1. Record your “greener trips” (when you choose an alternate mode and don't drive solo)
  2. Get NuRide points for your trips (up to 200 points each day, including personal trips!)
  3. Redeem your NuRide points for rewards (restaurants, retailers, events and attractions)
  4. Track your savings (car emissions prevented, gallons of gas saved, money you saved)
  5. You can also find a carpool mate or commuter companions

How do I sign-up?
Go to www.northshoretma.org, click on the NuRide icon. North Shore TMA member employees can register with either a work or personal email address. Make sure to use promo code NORTHSHORETMA to receive 1,000 NuRide points just for registering!

What if I am already registered in the NSTMA ride matching database?
The existing NSTMA ride matching database will no longer be active. NuRide will contact you via email to complete your registration on-line and you will receive 1,000 NuRide points.

What is NuRide’s rewards program?
Members redeem NuRide points for rewards provided by national and local sponsors to thank you for driving less and reducing traffic congestion, air pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions. New rewards are added throughout the year, including restaurant coupons, retailer discounts, and tickets to events and attractions.

Getting rewards is simple, all you need to do is:

  1. Get points by taking “greener trips”
  2. Redeem your NuRide points for rewards

How do I earn NuRide points?
Points are awarded for the first two trips that are completed on your NuRide trip calendar each day which exceed a minimum distance as shown below:

What is the value of a NuRide point?

Generally, NuRide points are based on a monetary equivalent. For example, if you had 1,000 NuRide points, you would be able to redeem them for a reward worth about $10.00. You can accumulate points for more valuable rewards. NuRide points have no cash value and can only be redeemed for rewards at NuRide.

How do I redeem my NuRide points?
After you become a member, you can go to www.nuride.com and log in with your NuRide name and password. Then, follow these steps to redeem your points for a reward.

  • Click on the “My Rewards” tab and select "Redeem points"
  • Your personal list of rewards will be displayed with a name, point value, and status

•    To learn more about a specific reward, click on the link for the reward name
•    If you want the reward, click "select this reward" at the bottom of the reward page
•    Provide your contact information and answer a few quick questions
•    At the bottom of the page, select "redeem points" to receive your reward!
